National Team takes SERC silver at world championships
TORONTO, ON – Canada today took the silver medal in the Simulated Emergency Response Competition (SERC) at the National Teams World Lifesaving Championship. Great Britain placed first with Sweden in third place and close behind Canadian team members Jeff Arthurs (Alberta), Jason Cross (Nova Scotia), John Eddolls (Ontario) and Véronique Comtois (Québec).
After preliminaries today, National Team members have qualified for finals in:
4 x 50 m Obstacle Relay
Women: Jennifer Ellison, Stephanie Hatt, Hayley John and Véronique Comtois have qualified for the B-Final, with a time of 2:09.25.
Men: John Eddolls, Dustin Hersee, Jonathan Howard and Jeff Arthurs have qualified for the B-Final, with a time of 1:49.29.
50 m Manikin Carry
Stephanie Hatt has qualified for the B-Final with a time of 40.27, breaking her own Canadian record of 40.80.
100 m Tow With Fins
Stephanie Hatt has qualified for the B-Final, with a time of 1:10.97. Jonathan Howard has qualified for the B-Final, with a time of 1:04.26.
4 x 25 m Manikin Relay
Women: Jennifer Ellison, Stephanie Hatt, Hayley John and Véronique Comtois have qualified for the B-Final with a time of 1:43.17, setting a new Canadian record.
Men: John Eddolls, Dustin Hersee, Jonathan Howard and Jeff Arthurs have qualified for the A-Final, with a time of 1:25.78.
The National Teams Championship is part of the International Life Saving Federation’s Rescue 2004, hosted by the Italian Lifesaving Federation at Viareggio and Livorno.
