Lifesaving Sauvetage Canada is calling for bids to host the 2010 Canadian Championships
Prospective hosts must commit to hosting one or more of the following events in the time lines indicated and the host facility(ies)/venues must meet the following specifications. Multiple year commitments would be considered. While the NSO will provide support and guidance for the Host, all Championships must be financially self-sustaining.
Canadian Lifeguard Emergency Response Championships – May 2010
- Canadian Competition Manual Rules for CLERC (2009)
- ILS Event Rules (ILS Competition Manual 2007)
- Placement of equipment must be according to ILS Event Rules as specified
- All equipment must be approved by Provincial Lifesaving Sport Organization, PSO
- All facilities must be sanctioned by the PSO for time trial use
- NSO approved Meet Referee
Canadian Pool Lifesaving Championships – May 2010
- 50m Pool *
- 8 or more lanes
- Canadian Competition Manual Rules (2009)
- ILS Event Rules (ILS Competition Manual 2007)
- Placement of equipment must be according to ILS Event Rules**
- Officiating Equipment need not be electronic timing. If not electronic than 3 timers per lane
- All equipment must be approved by the NSO following the criteria in the 2007 ILS Manual
- All facilities must be sanctioned by the NSO
- NSO approved Meet Referee
Canadian Surf Lifesaving Championships – August 2010
- 2010 can be open water or surf; 2011 must be surf
- Canadian Competition Manual Rules (2009)
- ILS Event Rules (ILS Competition Manual 2007)
- Placement of equipment must be according to ILS Event Rules**
- All equipment must be approved by Provincial Lifesaving Sport Organization, PSO
- All venues must be sanctioned by the PSO or NSO
- NSO approved Meet Referee

* The 50m pool must meet current June 2009 FINA dive standards
** The only other depth requirement is that the obstacles be placed according to ILS standards with
enough room for athlete clearance under the obstacle
