2011 RLSS Commonwealths - three Canadian records broken

The Canadian teams are breaking records at the 2011 RLSS Commonwealths. The final results from competition Thursday were posted Friday morning in Durban, South Africa, showing three new unofficial Canadian records and Canada's first five medals.

Congratulations to Audrey Prayal-Brown and Marie-Eve Chamberland, who set a new Canadian and Commonwealth record in the women's line throw of 11.17 secs, earning gold in the process. Bronzes went to Gail Findlay-Shirras in the 200m obstacle, the Canadian women's obstacle relay team of Findlay-Shirras, Prayal-Brown, Chamberland and Brittany Shaw and the development team's Alexandra Ladouceur and and Catherine Richard for the line throw.

Congrats also to Brittany Shaw, who set a new unofficial Canadian record of 37.95 seconds in the 50m manikin carry Friday morning.
